The FIA said Aston Martin is seeking to challenge the stewards` decision to penalize driver Fernando Alonso.


In the sprint at the Chinese Grand Prix, the Spaniard collided with his compatriot Carlos Sainz from Ferrari, after which he retired. The two-time Formula 1 champion was given a ten-second penalty and three penalty points.


Aston Martin exercised the right to request a review of the verdict. On Wednesday, May 3, the FIA will hold the first part of the hearing: if the team provides significant and new evidence, then a substantive hearing will be held, otherwise the request will be rejected.


Representatives from Aston Martin and Ferrari were called to the meeting, which will be held via videoconference.
